Another year with the Dukes, another successful Friendsgiving. 57 people, including members of the Dukes and their families, attended the annual event to celebrate friendship, food, and other festivities.
The Dukes have had a relatively quiet few weeks, while most people gear up for their respective Turkey Trots, marathons, and the USA Club Cross Championships in San Francisco. With this said, we have had some results, which include some local 5k and 10k victories and a full Ironman finisher!
Congratulations to Lauren Thompson for finishing her first full Ironman! Lauren was the 51st female to cross the line in 11:00:53!
Pedro Rodriguez and Chris Peverada took 1st and 2nd in the Camo Run 5k!
Shihlin Lu, Kathy Kirsling, and Chris Peverada competed in the Iron Horse 5k and Desert States Club XC Invitational at Albuquerque Academy!
Cheryl Serena was the 1st overall female in the 10K Soroptimist Club of Las Cruces Turkey Trot!
We would like to welcome Emily Reese to the Dukes Track Club! Emily comes to us from Georgia, by way of both Harvard and UNM. Emily competed at the NCAA West Regional Outdoor Track and Field Championships for UNM. She has speedy PR's of 16:29 for the 5k and 34:11 for the 10k. We are excited to have her on the Dukes!
This past weekend, several members of the Dukes Track Club competed against the Sports Warriors Track Club for the USATF NM Association Championship. The race was held at the Run the Bosque 8k! It was a hard fought race on dirt and single track trails with sharp turns, but the Dukes came out on top! The Dukes beat the Sports Warrriors by a small margin - 26 to 29.

Will ran a blazing time of 30:50, good for 7th place. Tony finished in 8th place with a time of 31:47, after helping crew for Pev's 100 miler the day before!
